Teachers\u2019 Day at Kamalasai school

National Teachers\u2019 Day (Wan Kru) is a Thai school holiday celebrated on January 16th of every year. Since this day is dedicated to teachers, students show their gratitude and appreciation for teachers.
\nThe Secretariat Office of the Teachers\u2019 Council of Thailand (\ud83c\uddf9\ud83c\udded)<\/a> first established the holiday in 1957, when it was held at the National Stadium of Thailand. Thai Teacher\u2019s Day is celebrated on January 16th because on this day in 1945, the Teachers Act was published by the Royal Thai Government Gazette. The Ministry of Education had decided to give teachers and students the day off in recognition of teachers\u2019 sacrifice and dedication to the people and nation. According to the Ministry, The purpose of Teacher\u2019s Day is to express gratitude towards teachers and others who contribute to Thai education.<\/p>\n

Teachers are often referred to as mae phim khong chart<\/em> (\u0e41\u0e21\u0e48\u0e1e\u0e34\u0e21\u0e1e\u0e4c\u0e02\u0e2d\u0e07\u0e0a\u0e32\u0e15\u0e34), literally the \u201cmold\u201d or \u201crole models\u201d of the nation, in a nod to their role in molding young minds.
\nToday all of the teachers (from primary school and secondary school) who are the teachers in Kamalasai district\u00a0have come to join this very important activity.<\/p>\n
